The Skipe service is possible for both commercial and domestic use, ranging from Personal Computer service all the way up to phone-to-phone

Recently I decided to have a look at a really wicked write-up in Fortune 500 Magazine and saw that there is a thing called a skype phone spreading over the web .These two are now rich beyond their craziest expectations because of selling their brainwave to one of the premier sites on the web,e bay. What am I talking about. It is called voice over internet protocol. It is not a new idea, making long distance calls over the internet for free.

So all you have is rig up a phone to your laptop and you can see and talk to anyone anywhere in the world using skipe. It is essentail you get a rapid connection as quickly as you can.Video is still in its infancy so you wont always get an amazing picture.

So I went on Ebay and yes you guessed it, they are flogging phones already due to skyp.We think skype has been in existence for a year to date and it is proving hugely popular.

The bigger commercial telecom firms are beginning to sell voice over internet protocol packages. All the telecom experts are watching voip closely thinking that maybe it will crash and burn. Will the net spell the end for voice over ip.

If previous experience is anything to go by then we can expect the big players to look at voip in minute detail. The most plausible scenario is that the federal govt will want a piece of the action by regulation.Skype are charging to make phone calls to cell phones and local regular phones, and that's called skyping out, etc.

The next big thing which voip are making a bold move towards is the notion of web conferencing. Web video conferencing was a groundbreaking idea about 10 years ago but then fell off the radar but now it is making a return.

My opinion is that audio and video over the web, especially over a broadband connection will see a shift in popularity.Everything says that audio and video will be the next biggest thing since sliced bread.

But one thing is for certain, it's not just hype they're muttering about, and only time will tell if the general public will catch on when they get their free skype download. We'll see in the next few years.
